Found a UK water jet cutting company and a reasonable supplier of carbon fibre sheets 150mm x 300mm in both 1.4mm and 2mm thickness. Worked out that I could get a two copies of the chassis and mech deck out of that. Works out about £55 for the materials. Have fired off a mail to a UK water jet cutting company. Hopefully the cutting costs would be affordable and maybe they can even get the sheets cheaper.
In preparation for scanning, measuring, tracing, etc the originals to make a CAD template, I removed all the posts and other attachments.
Hopefully it'll come in at around £75 - £85 including cutting and I can e-bay the second set to cover half or more of the costs.
With a UK supplier and the templates on file, I may even be able to offer this as a service to other Tamiyaclub.com members.
